Create a Sea of Blue: Join the #BlueUP Landmark Challenge

Every October, people across the globe unite for World Day of Bullying Prevention, a powerful reminder that kindness, inclusion, and respect matter, and bullying has no place in our schools, online spaces, or communities. In 2025, STOMP Out Bullying is inviting you to be part of something unforgettable: the #BlueUP Landmark Challenge.

From coast to coast and across Canada, iconic landmarks will light up blue to shine a spotlight on bullying prevention. When we flood social media with images of blue-lit buildings and people wearing blue, we send one powerful message: No one stands alone.

Why the #BlueUP Landmark Challenge Matters

Bullying and cyberbullying affect millions of young people every year. According to national studies, one in five students reports being bullied, and nearly 60 percent of teens have experienced cyberbullying. These numbers represent real kids who carry the weight of cruelty, isolation, and harassment into their classrooms and homes.

By joining the #BlueUP Landmark Challenge, you help shift the narrative. A sea of blue becomes more than a color. It becomes a symbol of hope, support, and action. Together, we can empower students to know they matter, remind communities to stand up, and normalize the message that bullying is never acceptable.

How to Participate

Taking part in the #BlueUP Landmark Challenge is simple:

• Wear blue on October 6, 2025 for World Day of Bullying Prevention and throughout the month of October.
• Snap a photo of yourself in blue or in front of a participating landmark glowing blue.
• Post on social media with the hashtags #BlueUP and #WorldDayOfBullyingPrevention.
• Tag @theofficialstompoutbullying so your post can be featured.

Throughout October, STOMP Out Bullying will spotlight participants in Instagram and Facebook Stories, and at the end of the month we will release a powerful “Sea of Blue” highlight reel.
