Kyra Sedgwick is an actress and producer. She is best known for her starring role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNTcrime drama The Closer, which won her a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award. She is also known for her recurring role on the successful sitcom Brooklyn Nine Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About. Her other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July, Cameron Crowe's Singles Heart and Souls, Phenomenon, What's Cooking Secondhand Lions, The Game Plan and The Possession.. She also has one of the starring roles in the critically acclaimed movie The Edge of Seventeen. Recently she had her directorial debut in the Lifetime movie “Story of A Girl.”
